Guide to Tenerife Reina Sofia Airport

Renia Sofia provides both international and regional service. It is the larger of the two airports on the island and is 60 km. from the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Terminals and facilities at Reina Sofia

The airport has one terminal for both the chartered and scheduled flights. The terminal is housed in a vast building to cater to the large amount of vacationers that travel here.

Banks, ATMs, and a post office are available at the airport. Travel agencies, tourist information, a chapel, police station, pharmacy, and a medical center are also provided at the airport. The airport is wheelchair-accessible and lifts are available to take passengers to the upper level. Telephones, restaurants, and toilets are all physically accessible and facilities to assist disabled passengers from the aircraft to the terminal are provided.

Transportation and parking at Reina Sofia airport

Buses regularly operate from the airport to the central bus station in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (at La Avenida Maritima), North Tenerife Airport (for inter-island flights), Los Cristianos (for ferries to La Palma and La Gomera) and other locations on the island.

Taxis are also available to take you to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Airport parking at Reina Sofia consists of over 1,000 parking spaces for cars and buses. Of those, 58 of them are free for a maximum stay of 15-minutes. Short- and long-term airport parking is located opposite the terminal building near the bus and taxi stops. Driving from Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the north of the island, travel along Highway Tenerife 1 (TF-1) for approximately 60 km. until the sign posted junction for the airport is reached.
