Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the third busiest airport in the world. It is located on the southern coast of California 15 miles southwest of LA. The airport sees thousands of domestic and international commercial flights every year.
Terminals and facilities at LAX
Each of its nine terminal buildings serves a different group of airline companies. Several terminals serve mostly domestic American airlines. Terminals 2 and 5 are for many non-American airline companies, and Terminal 9 – The Tom Bradley International Terminal, handles long haul international flights.
ATMs are positioned in each terminal on both the arrivals and departures levels. Bureaux de change are in the departures halls of all terminals, in the arrivals halls of the TBI (Tom Bradley International) Terminal, and Terminals 2, 5 and 7. For the disabled, TDD telephones are located in Terminals 1-8. Designated parking areas are available and are appropriately located near lifts.
Duty-free shopping is readily available in terminals 2-8, and in the Tom Bradley International Terminal. Bookshops, clothes outlets, sunglasses shops, and many other shopping opportunities are plentiful.
There is an array of business facilities at the airport, including internet access. However, to find more business facilities, travelers can go to one of the nearby LA airport hotels. Transportation and parking at LAX
Outbound buses, shuttles, and courtesy vans can be picked up from the designated areas on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal. The areas are signed Van, LAX Shuttle, Bus Stop and Courtesy Tram. The Fly-Away Bus Service leaves Terminal 1 and picks up on the Lower Level, at the Bus Stop sign. It runs between 05:30 and 24:00 daily at intervals of 30 minutes. City buses can be boarded adjacent to Parking Lot 'C' by taking the 'C' Shuttle.
Frequent, free shuttles are available between each terminal for making airline connections. Also, there is a complimentary rail shuttle every 12-15 minutes. This will reach the Aviation station on the green line of the metro light rail network. Taxis are available on the Lower Level. Airport authorized taxis all display an official seal.
Los Angeles International Airport parking is available in two forms - daily and metered parking. Both are located near all terminals in the Central Terminal Area.
