Honolulu International Airport is the major airport for all of Hawaii. It is a hub for domestic overseas flights as well as flights between the Hawaiian islands. Terminals and facilities at Honolulu International

Honolulu’s airport has three terminals: Overseas, Inter-island, and Commuter. They are connected by a free shuttle bus known as Wiki Wiki bus. Most services and activities are clustered in the Main Terminal, named the John Rodgers Terminal. This terminal has three concourses: Diamond, Central, and Ewa.

Banks, ATMs and currency exchange facilities are available throughout the airport. The Bank of Hawaii is opposite baggage area D in the main terminal. Coin-operated lockers are located in the Main Terminal, and a 24-hour medical center is also offered. The airport is easily accessible by wheelchair, and TDD telephones are provided.

The airport has many newsagents and other shops for travelers’ convenience. There is also some duty free shopping and several souvenir shops.

The business center of the airport is in the Main Terminal. Photocopying, Internet access, office supplies and stationery, post office services, international telephone service, fax facilities and PC rental are all provided at the center. Another business center is located across from Gate 25. Conference facilities in the Main Overseas Terminal and the Inter-island Terminal are also available to travelers, but must be reserved in advance via the Airport Information Unit. The Honolulu city bus routes 19 and 20 go to Waikiki and other downtown locations from airport exits. There are no train services at Honolulu International Airport.

For shuttle services, you may want to check with your individual hotel, since many offer free services from the airport. There is also the Airport Waikiki Express shuttle bus that runs services from the airport to any Waikiki hotel. This service operates in front of terminal buildings and is run about twice per hour during daylight hours. There are also taxis waiting outside terminals to take you anywhere in the city you’d like to go.

Honolulu International parking isn’t far from the airport. There is short term, long term and valet parking options. Disabled parking areas are also available. Car hire at Honolulu International Airport

Coming from Waikiki, you get to the end of the main Kalakaua Avenue and then make a left turn just prior to Honolulu Zoo. On Kapahulu Avenue, you continue to its end, where you reach the H-1 freeway. Continuing westbound along H-1, follow the signs to the airport.
