Guide to Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW)

DTW is located 20 miles southwest of Detroit. The airport facilities and efficiency of DTW have been much improved in recent years, making it a fine airport for travelers.

Terminals and facilities at Detroit Metropolitan Airport

DTW has three passenger terminals. The McNamara Terminal serves a host of major international airline companies between its three concourses: A, B, and C. The mile-long Concourse A has moving walkways and an overhead tram. An underground tunnel links A to concourses B and C. All other airlines use the L.C. Smith Terminal. The Berry Terminal is now used solely for charter flights. The terminals are connected by free shuttle buses.

ATMs and bureaux are located in all terminals. A postbox is also located in the McNamara terminal. There are also snack shops post-security on the concourses, and airport shower services.

Most of the shops at Detroit Metropolitan are located in McNamara terminal, but you can find small stores in the other terminals as well.

Conference facilities are provided by the Westlin airport hotel located near the McNamara terminal and also by the Detroit Airport Marriott. Either of these Detroit airport hotels offer fine business facilities, or you can choose another Detroit airport hotel online here.

In the Smith Terminal you'll find a tequila theme restaurant bar called The José Cuervo Tequilería. The McNamara terminal has the widest selection of restaurants, although there are places to get a bite to eat throughout the airport.
